hello and welcome my name is rebecca louisa smith and i am the film festival doctor and what i do is i help filmmakers get their film scene in film festivals around the world my podcast focuses on all things film festivals to help you learn more about this part of the film industry Today's episode is focused on genre film programming.
And my very special guest joining me today is Joseph Mosseri, who is one of the programmers for the Winter Film Festival's FEARS program, which takes place during February in New York City.
This festival's mission is to promote diversity and provide a platform for underrepresented artists and showcase a variety of genres, viewpoints, and approaches.
New Yorker Joe is a radio personality, author, editor, critic, journalist, screenwriter, and web designer who is always on the cutting edge of pop culture and Jo began his career in the mid-80s at WBAI 99.5 FM, producing segments for the station's daily arts program.
He currently co-hosts a weekly program with Michael Sargent called Night Shift, where the show's theme, Life is Like Science Fiction, covers a broad spectrum of topics and genres.
