What does a successful business transition really require? In this episode of *The Family Business Experience*, Erin Weber and Jason Petner of the Weber Group of Raymond James join the conversation…
Not only, uh, do you guys have this family business dynamic going on as well, um, our listeners may not have heard before about the Business Owner Strategy Summit, or BOSS, uh, which is a fantastic event, uh, coming on later this year.
Can you tell me how did that get started?
BOSS began as a Raymond James initiative designed to help business owners think more intentionally about the future of their companies.
Raymond James has been very committed to supporting business owner education, and one of the powerful things about BOSS is that it gives us access to resource, perspectives, and professionals that can be very valuable to owners.
These are the companies that employ our neighbors, support families, sponsor local organizations, and help give our communities their identity.
We're very proud of this region, and we saw a need to bring this type of conversation here.
BOSS is not a sales event, it's not an academic or legal lecture, and it's not only for owners who are looking to sell the business right now.
It is an active educational event centered on bringing relevant insights to business owner communities.
The goal is to help owners think about the next step, whether that means growth, leadership, transition, succession, valuation, or simply making the business more prepared for the future.
Our spring event was the first BOSS in Pittsburgh, and the response confirmed that the need was there.
We did not want business owners to feel like they were sitting in a sea of audience members.
The attendance was strong, the engagement was great, the speakers were experienced, and the questions from owners were exactly the type of questions we hoped they would ask.
The event will be November 5th at the Pittsburgh Marriott North in Cranberry Township.
Our team is leading the Pittsburgh event with our co-host, the Americas Group of Raymond James.
