What to make of the Pistons' first preseason game

Back at it again, and on this latest installment of The Engine Room, we have a lot to discuss.

And Cam, the number one thing that we have to discuss, and let's just jump right into it, we actually have real basketball to discuss.

Oh.

Because as I know, a lot of people who's running across this podcast now knows that the Pistons opened up their preseason schedule Monday night inside LCA in a very interesting, a very over the top preseason opener against the Phoenix Suns.

They had an opportunity to win 109-107.

Cam, I don't know about you, but there was so much going on in this game to the point I didn't even know what to talk about, how to write.

You had, you know, John Collins trying to choke out Dillon Brooks.

You had the Pistons looking kind of like a, a team that was trying to figure each other out, no camaraderie, no chemistry, down by 18, you know, at halftime.

The Suns sit, sit their, their, their star players and stuff.

Pistons come back.

They up by like, what, five points with like 10 seconds left.

They end up blowing the lead.

Game tied at 107, and then at the very end, rookie guard Evbuokhan Okorie literally scores the game-winning basket.

Cam, there was a lot going on.

Let's jump right into it.

What are some of your thoughts from this crazy, over the top dramatic preseason game?

First of all, this felt less like a preseason game and more like some random game you see at the end of January.

That's the same thing I've been saying.

No, it was just so much that was going on from tip-off to the end of the game.

There were so many points that you just rattled off, first of all.

I wanna start off with that John Collins, Dillon Brooks thing 'cause I'm like, talk about somebody trying to get in their mid-season form.
