What happens when the identity that carried you through your entire life suddenly stops working? In her mid-40s, Ann had built a life around competence, independence, structure, and taking care of…
Wow.
Yeah.
There's something really spectacular about the thunder that I just want to mention for people listening is that because we're in a mountain range, um, It's not like normal thunder.
It echoes and bounces off the mountains.
So it like triples in the sound and the vibration.
It's really super incredible.
Yes, you just painted us such an amazing picture.
I also love, Anne, your idea of this.
recognizing how you build that jar and how you lived it and how you couldn't you know as you even gave us a visual of like having bungee cords a desperate attempt to contain it so I guess like I'm really I'm really wondering like what happens next what happens when you realize that the mason jar is not the way you can move forward what's the analogy for how you are living now so
one of the things that I was marveling in so much there was the humanity, right? I said it again, multiple times to Jay.
And a big part of that is the emotional piece, the emotional messiness of humans and the beauty that is that, and that is the beauty of this life and how we navigate through it.
And so recognizing that and changing my perspective of my emotions are something that I have to overcome in order
to move forward.
Instead of that, it's embracing them and coming into this place of going, all right, I'm feeling an emotion.
Let me sit with that and let me
figure that out because without our emotions, we are just robots.
The emotional part of this journey is a really beautiful part of it.
It's not this byproduct that you have to deal with in order to move forward.
It is the journey.
It is how we process the world
around us.
It is how we interact with the world around us.
And it's something that is really, really beautiful.
Wow.
