Ever lock into a task for hours without noticing the time, then can't focus for five minutes the next day? In this episode, Luisa and Kerri unpack the differences between flow and focus, and why they…
Have you ever been in a situation where...
You've been doing something and you've just
completely lost track of time.
And if so, what were you doing? Regularly.
And now I feel like I'm spoiling the whole thing.
Next sentence.
So I will not say the next sentence.
Instead, the last time where that happened was on Monday when I prepared a presentation for a pitch that was really important to me.
um it most easily happens whenever I draw or paint um but also when I'm yeah whenever I manage to drag myself into a co-working place there it also easily happens see that I'm just like I forget about time and just work on stuff I'm immediately jealous
you're like it happens quite often happens quite regularly like how often per week are we talking that you find yourself like that
a week depends on the week so the thing is and it is an adhd thing so it happens like whenever whenever i um can pick a topic and can find an entrance and i have this i have um when i did my trainer education in in 2011 And there was one day of the whole seminar where we took a deep dive on how to write and create flipcharts.
And it was like the eight of us sitting on different ends of the room on the floor, practicing the specific type of handwriting and sketching.
And there was the album playing of the Retro Chili Peppers, California Cajun.
No, I think it was a different one.
That's so clever.
Yeah.
Okay.
I can't do it with like, many people do it with like techno or classical music that hasn't worked for me, but this one album does that trick for me, which means whenever it plays where I don't want or need to be in a state of flow and focus, I have to skip the song because I don't want to destroy the effect.
Interesting.
So I'm going to put a pin in
something we've said, because it is something I want to come back to.
