Diagon Alley

The only thing that messed up was we were going to do sort of a shopping thing and we tacked it on after we were there.

So my girlfriend's like a fan of Harry Potter, and there's that alley, Diagon Alley, and we were going to go and do the Diagon Alley.

So there's apparently, and I'm not a Harry Potter person, so just...

I might get some of this wrong, but apparently there's like a real Diagon Alley where they filmed it.

And then there's like there's like another Diagon Alley that they made after the movie, kind of like a set.

And you get to see like the actual wand shops and things that are in the movie, whereas the real Diagon Alley has like real shops, you know, like whatever, like, I don't know, Gregg's is there or like whatever.

I don't know if Gregg's is actually there, but there's just like real shops there.

So we were going to go to the real shops.

But, uh, this is...

They're gonna get their own Harry Potter, uh, area, and it is gonna be a Diagon Alley, a Hogwarts castle, and the Forbidden Forest, which is interesting.

But it's kind of exclusive to them.

It's not gonna be a recreation of what you've seen in Universal.

World Abu Dhabi, is what are the folks in the corner suite there, you know, uh, thinking? You know, just, uh-

Right

... you know, is, is the smart play here to lean into the, the eight previous films 'cause that's the pub- what the public knows and loves? Or i- for the future of this franchise, is it a smarter play to have this, these new lands, uh, Diagon Alley, a Hogwarts castle, and the Forbidden Forest, uh, you know, embrace the version of these spaces that we'll come to know with the Harry Potter series, again, debuting, uh, in late December over on HBO? So, um-

Right.

And now on to some other news for you guys really quickly.

last week i had shared during the back to hogwarts day celebration that they had announced that there were three new lands coming to warner brothers abu dhabi and they announced what those three lands will be so the first one is going to be diagon alley which we've got it seen before have it got the t-shirt um and it's a popular place it probably should be anywhere where they're doing a harry potter world like diagon alley should be a part of it the second one they're doing is hogwarts okay so brent that was on your list of top five things it was if it was i i hope if the land itself is just all of hogwarts yeah like that's gonna be kind of crazy

Yeah, and you know what? They'll figure it out.

They'll get the engineering.

So today, we reveal Hedwig's true identity.

As we all know, Hedwig comes as a gift from Hagrid during Harry's first ever visit to Diagon Alley, and in many ways is an active symbol of Harry's entrance to the Wizarding World.

Because while Harry so rarely has a parental figure to look up to, he does always have Hedwig.

Who am I, Hedwig?

As a master namer, am I right? Speaking of names, though, there's even still a fun little parallel with Hole Hedwig and Paranel.

We know that Hagrid's there to help Harry do his shopping, but he's also there to collect the stone on official Hogwarts business.
