: A gentle reminder on what it means to truly let the Qur’an become part of you.
Today, very quick one inshallah, but I want to talk about building a relationship with the Qur'an.
And I feel like when we hear that phrase, build a relationship with the Quran, sometimes you automatically think it means reading loads of Quran every single day.
And obviously reading the Quran is a huge part of it.
But I think there's a difference between reading the Quran and actually having a relationship with it.
I came across this idea a while ago and I just thought it was so beautiful.
I share it everywhere I get the chance to, literally.
I think I've said it like twice in the summer halakha.
It went to different places anyways.
But yeah, think about this for a second.
It was revealed on Lilatul Qadr and Allah tells us that Lilatul Qadr is better than a thousand months.
the best of creation, the master of mankind.
So when you look back at it, there's a pattern, you know, everything the Quran touches becomes elevated.
And I remember hearing that and thinking, okay, then what happens when the Quran touches you? What happens when the Quran actually becomes a part of your life? Not something you only pick up during Ramadan, not something sitting on a shelf in your room that you feel guilty every time you walk past, but something you actually know, something you actually return to.
I think that's the relationship I want with the Quran.
Because if I'm being realistic, I don't think most of us struggle because we don't believe the Quran is important.
We know it's important.
We know we should read it.
I think we know we should understand it as well.
But somehow life gets busy and the Quran becomes one of those things we keep saying we're going to get back into.
We'll say, okay, from tomorrow I'm reading and reading.
you do it for three days maybe five then you miss one day then another day and suddenly two weeks have passed and because you feel bad about it you avoid it even more i think one of the biggest things i've had to understand is that you don't need to have this perfect relationship with the quran before you start to enjoy it you know um The relationship is built by coming back.
Even after you disappear for a bit, just come back.
