TDR News: National Treasure 3 - Sicario 3 - and The Brave and The Bold On Hold

Well, folks, welcome back to the weekly movie news show.

And National Treasure three is, in fact, in motion.

Director John Turtletaub has confirmed that National Treasure 3 has the approval from Disney and that a script has been okayed from the company.

Although not confirmed yet, the plan is to get everyone back for the film, that being Justin Bartha playing Riley, the beautiful Diane Kruger as Abigail Chase, and of course, Nicolas Cage as Ben Franklin Gates.

We've been waiting for this one for a long time now.

And really for the past few years, National Treasure 3 seemed to be dead in the water.

Even Nick Cage had said that essentially.

So to hear this after more than 20 years from the first film, it's great news.

So we'll keep an eye out for this one as more news comes out.

Maybe a lot of people don't care, including Vincent Daly, but this is some positive stuff right here.

I'm telling you.

And rolling on that great third film news, Sicario 3 also seems to be happening, and possibly quickly.

The news broke thanks to Josh Brolin coming out and saying that Sicario 3 is happening, and in fact, production will begin soon.

Now, that's kind of all we have, so it's a little surprising and almost doesn't seem real.

You know, a script was being worked on a couple years ago, but we haven't really heard of anything since then.

And on top of that, Taylor Sheridan, the writer of the first two, is wildly busy with his many TV shows and another couple movies going.

And director of the first film, Denis Villeneuve, has also been crazy occupied by Dune 3 and now jumping immediately into the Bond film.

So we don't really know who the main writer is.

And with Brolin saying production soon, we also don't know who the director is either.

It's a little worrisome because to not have either Sheridan or Villeneuve seems lacking, but we'll have to see.

And to keep you updated for sure, Stefano Silma was the director of the second film, Day of the Soldado, so maybe he'll take the reins again, but hopefully we'll have some good news soon.
