Join us for Episode 5 as we talk all things AFLW. This week we cover: - The week's debate in 'the huddle' is all about ex-players joining the media. Tom Morris' recent comments have blown up, with…
Um, I guess big conversation over the weekend was some comments from the WD Brief, um, asking Ally Blackburn how bad a team was playing.
I think we haven't really seen that before, especially to ask a current player when they've just played that team.
Um, I said, you know, the other day that would not happen in the men's.
Imagine if, I don't know, Cam Mooney said to Nick Dacos how bad are North Melbourne playing or how bad are Essendon playing right now.
Mm.
They would never o- obviously give a, a, an answer to that.
So I thought the way in which Ally Blackburn had responded, really classy from her.
Um, but just unfortunately she was put in that sort of awkward position to, to even answer that question.
Mm.
You kind of wonder how that stuff gets through.
How, how can you, as a, as a, you know, a program that's promoting the product, go and ask a player how bad a team is? I feel like that's just-
Who just played against them
... who just played against them, yeah, absolutely.
It's, it's wrong.
I was watching and I...
My first thought was, what did she just ask her?
[laughs]
Mm.
And, like, to Ally's credit, she was excellent.
I mean, she didn't answer the question, but she couldn't.
So she had to be really diplomatic or really politically correct in her response.
Mm.
You know, you know, it's tough and we've been there, I know what it's like.
And like this is, like, really bad TV.
That's what I initially thought.
