CRNA School Prerequisites: What to Retake Before You Apply

A prerequisite requirement and an academic weakness are two very different problems.

A school may not require organic chemistry, but that C is still going to remain in your science record or in your science GPA.

For a competitive application, you cannot treat a weak core science grade as irrelevant because the course is absent from the program's official list.

So we need to start with two separate questions.

Question number one is, what course does this program actually require for me to be eligible? Question two is, what does my transcript actually need to prove for me to be competitive? Well, the admissions page on the website answers the first question.

Your cumulative GPA, science GPA, last 60 GPA, course grades, and academic trend answer the second.

So this distinction is important because the minimum is not the target.

If a program says it requires a 3.0 GPA and a B in chemistry, that tells you the lowest acceptable threshold.

It does not tell you that a transcript full of Bs will be competitive.
