Our guest today is one of my favorite people at Sinclair College. She plays a vital role within the Sinclair community and empowers everyone around her to reach for the stars. She is the backbone of…
Now, how can women set themselves apart in today's?
I've been in a situation where I've worked in a space where there was mostly males.
Even in social service, a lot of times you think it's all just female-dominated.
But a lot of times I've had more male supervisors than I've had female supervisors, right? So I think setting yourself apart is really about just walking in your greatness, standing in on being authentic, being professional, not taking no for an answer, but knowing how to speak up and using your voice.
This is a male-dominated society, right? But us knowing that we have good problem-solving skills, we have good critical thinking skills, and being able to show up as our authentic selves and building our own tables, not always waiting for a seat at the table, but building our own table, and then showing up is what we need to do and walking in our own greatness.

We have the mental capacity, we have the strength to do it, just like anybody else.
there's an exhibit here at Sinclair right now on the third floor, 11th, in building 11, in our own, I think it's Our American Journey.
It's a traveling exhibit, and we are just blessed to have it right now here with us.
And it's a national exhibit, but it has several women through whether it's literacy, politics, education, business, all types of career fields that we can learn and grow on.
We all stand on the shoulders of other great women, whether it's in our own families, or people that we've worked with or people we've never touched or known that we stand on their shoulders.
The history of women, what we do, how we move, how we've helped shape this nation, whether we have credit for it or not, I think is huge, is key.
When the world is ready to have a female or woman leader, we should be ready.
We need to be ready because we have the nurturing, the intelligence, the strength, the resilience to take our nation or the world to the next level.
