Live Like Jesus

And when you consider the book of Ephesians, it's six chapters.

It's one of the prison epistles.

Epistles means a letter.

Paul was in prison, persecuted for his faith, but his passion was strong.

He still had purpose in prison.

And he wrote different letters.

This one to the followers of Jesus in Ephesus.

And these six chapters, the first three are more theological, doctrinal.

Who is God? What has God done? It's that foundation for our faith.

And then the last three chapters, chapters four through six, those are practical.

How do we live it out? Following Jesus, what does it look like to become like Jesus, love like Jesus, lead like Jesus, live like Jesus? God is transforming our lives.

Once you put your trust in the Lord, you're saved.

It's by faith in the Lord Jesus.

It's through grace and undeserved gift.

But then we want to grow.

And sanctification means becoming more like the Lord.

And that's the work God does in our lives.

He shatters pride, right? Humility, we're gonna grow more when we're teachable.

And then through his word and through the Holy Spirit who convicts us and guides us through other people in our lives that God uses, through circumstances, even pain, God will redeem that to help us grow, becoming more like the Lord.

Let's take a look at Ephesians chapter five.
