Hormonal poverty is when you don't have the hormonal resources to meet your body's health needs.

So when women talk about hormones, we very much think we're talking about sex hormones first.

It's not even just estrogen and progesterone and or testosterone, but there are actually seven main metabolic hormones that I like to teach women about are really fueling their metabolism or not.

And therefore, keeping their weight down and keeping their energy up because the two are directly related through hormones.

So every cell in every system in your body has receptors for these sex hormones.

Everything in your body depends on these sex hormones as well as all the main metabolic hormones.

And so when we talk about hormonal poverty, what happens for all women by the time you get to menopause is you have a certain amount of flex hormone deficiency and poverty.

But also with these other hormones, most of us also have an impoverished state regarding those hormones as well.

Sometimes even as early as I've seen a 16-year-old with that, it can happen in your 20s or 30s, but definitely by the time you're in your 40s and 50s and beyond, you're in this hormonally impoverished state.
