This season is now championship or bust for the Warriors and Luke Metcalf is their halfback for the rest of the season.

Luke Metcalf, after four months out in the wilderness of reserve grade, showed with his kicking, game management and X-Factor why he needs to be the playmaker leading the Warriors into the NRL finals.

With Tumare Martin reportedly out for a month with a hamstring injury, I can't see him returning for the playoffs.

Anything other than a Warriors NRL Premiership title will now be a disappointment.
On the back of that performance, you know, Kenrith have been the benchmark for at least five years.
And for them to, for the Warriors to just punch the Panthers in the mouth like they did, particularly in that first half, I've never seen... such a comprehensive showing by the Warriors against a team of that caliber perhaps in my lifetime like obviously there's a bit of recency bias there but I just thought obviously they set the tone with that Haka which I know we're going to get into which was just spine tingling and then from there you know you saw how much indigenous round meant to your James Fisher Harris's uh Aaron Clark in particular scoring that first try it was utterly dominant you know I can get into some stats but Yeah, I think you are right.
I mean, I always want the Warriors to win a premiership each and every year, right? But I go into it with eyes wide open because naturally I'm a pessimistic sports reporter in his mid-30s who's sort of seen it all, at least, you know, seen most things by now.
But, you know, the way in which if they can dismantle Penrith in that fashion, and yes, there was some squeaky bum time areas at the end, which we'll get to, But if they can play anywhere to that level, it's just going to be about sustaining it now, right? Four more rounds of the regular season and then you're hoping they should finish top four.
