The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes presents “The Mystery of Mrs Warren’s Key,” originally broadcast December 7, 1941. This local archival recording is episode 61 of the series and stars Basil Rathbone as Sherlock Holmes with Nigel Bruce as Dr. Watson.
When a troubled London landlady seeks Holmes’s help over a secretive lodger, a locked room, a house key, and cryptic written requests point toward a deeper mystery. Adapted by Edith Meiser from Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s “The Adventure of the Red Circle,” the NBC drama follows Holmes and Watson from Mrs. Warren’s lodging house into a dangerous web of hidden communications.
The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes presents the original broadcast with a newly produced contextual introduction, a short closing announcement, and gently cleaned/mastered audio for a more consistent listening experience.
