🍂 Fall is here energetically! Even though the official first day of fall hasn’t arrived, Labor Day weekend always feels like the beginning of a new season. The days are getting shorter, the mornings…

And although it's not officially fall yet, I always think of Labor Day weekend as the start of fall.

Maybe you suddenly feel like reorganizing your house, starting new projects, or changing up your routine.

That's very much the energy of Vata, which is about movement, change, and transition.

And one of the biggest shifts we experience as we move from summer into fall is a shift from outward energy to inward energy.

Summer is about being out in the world, like we're more active, we're socializing and traveling, you know, staying up later and generally just doing more.

It's a time to slow down, reflect, get a little more grounded and start thinking about what we want next.

And because Vata is such a light, airy energy to balance and ground ourselves and to help with this transition from summer to fall, we want to add more of the opposite qualities of warmth, nourishment, grounding, and routine.

That means eating more warm, nourishing foods like soup, fall vegetables like squash and pumpkins, going to bed a little earlier, creating more structure in your day, spending some quiet time alone, you know, getting outside and spending some time in nature.

It's really about creating a little more grounding while everything around us is changing.
