Episode 238: Golfweek's Adam Schupak Breaks Down the 2026 U.S. Open!

I am decompressing after what was really a spectacular U.S. Open 2026 version held at Shinnecock Hills Golf Club.

Wyndham Clark, your winner for the second time in three years, a four under.

Score takes the trophy for him.

A great win for him.

Sam Burns, so the heartbreaker on 18, finishes one shot behind.

It was a great tournament to watch.

primarily because of where it was held.

Shinnecock Hills is one of my favorite golf courses in the world.

I think it's one of the five best golf courses in the world and maybe possibly the best championship golf course in the world because it does not disappoint.

It does not disappoint and has proven that through generations of golfers.

It is a marvelous place to have a tournament and to test the ability and the mental toughness of the best professionals of any era.

Joining me to talk about that today is one of the best of his era.

Adam Schupak, Golf Week, is going to join me to talk about the 2026 Open.

Gave the highs, lows.

the questions and maybe an early prediction on the British Open coming up at Royal Birkdale.

It should be a great event.

I'm really looking forward to that.

Let's see, what do we talk about today? Can we just talk about the Open real quick? Yeah, let's do that.

I think, let's see, takeaways for the Open.

First, I want to go to the course because the course itself is such a big part of the story when we talk about the Open.

We always talk about what the score, the winning score is relative to par.

Did the course play up to our standards, U.S. Open standards? And then there's a third thing, which is what we expect the U.S.

Open to be, what we want to watch.

And I think that largely they did a great job.

Job Bodenhammer, really congratulations on what you and the group there at the USGA did.
