Ep.35 With David Scott

Fife's Dave Kerr.

Dave, how are you doing today? What have you been up to?

Very well, Malcolm.

Yep, yep, managed to make it out onto the golf course today for the first time in a wee while.

Um, I won't spoil it for everyone else, but, uh, yeah, you and I managed to, to, to put away a tough pair of opponents in an alternate shot match up at Archerfield.

Um, giving 10 strokes is never easy, and we didn't make it look easy, to be fair.

Um, but, but we came through in the end, and that's what counts.

Foursomes is a great thing in Scottish golf, and I think they call it American, um, alternate shot in the States.

But I think, um, alternate shot, they actually do play alternate shot, so if you hit the last putt, you take the last drive.

So foursomes is, um, alternate shot, um, and, and fo- foursomes is not alternate.

Foursomes is foursomes.

You, you, you drive alternate holes.

Uh, alternate shot actually you do exactly that.

I'm terribly glad I was-

And the Americans-

... driving half those today, yes.

[laughs]

As you were.

Oh, how are you doing?

Uh, I'm well, Malcolm.

Uh, thanks, uh, for that.

Um, smarting a little bit, you know.

Uh, you've, you've made light of my, uh, you know, Heart of Midlothian follower status, uh, over many podcasts and, you know, for those that do follow and listen to this fairly recently, you know, you'll know why I'm hurting.

But I'm buoyed with optimism, Malcolm, and, uh, yeah, I'm also optimistic that I'm gonna get a game of golf in this weekend at Archerfield, uh, Dave.

Um, so I couldn't wait for your invitation any longer.
