#22 | Riley May - Pain is Inevitable, Suffering is Optional.

Thank you for being here! This episode is for anyone who has ever looked at someone else's life and thought "they're so lucky" (Spoiler: they're not. They're just choosing differently than you are.)My gorg friend Riley May Dixon. one of the most quietly elite humans I know, joined me for what ended up being one of my favourite conversations on Talk Therapy yet. Riley is a brand new mum to the most beautiful little boy Mana, and this episode covers everything from eleven years of love, to cancer at seventeen, stepping away from business to fully becoming a mum, and why every single one of those decisions came from the same place. We get into:- Eleven years together - what it actually takes to love someone through every season- T being diagnosed with cancer six months into their relationship at fifteen and seventeen, and what that taught them about what a real problem actually is- Removing ego from every decision and following the path of least resistance- Stepping away from business in motherhood and why that was the most intentional thing she has ever done- Masculine and feminine energy in relationship, and why polarity changed everything for them- Why they have never been happier than they are right now with a newborn- Pain is inevitable. Suffering is optional, and how Riley actually lives by this- The difference between luck and choices, and why what you see online is never the full story- How to contribute to your own suffering without even realising it- You sacrifice for the project, not for each other- The question everyone should ask themselves, if you couldn't post about it, would you have done it?- Trust is built through repetition and showing up when you don't want toThis episode will make you want to call your person, put your phone down and just be in your life.Go follow Riley @therileymay 🤍Tag me in your stories (@christinapengilly) & share this with someone who needs it!! 💌📲 Instagram 🤳🏼 Personal YouTube ❤️ Talk Therapy YouTubeEpisodes drop weekly on Wednesdays.
