Christina PengillyHostAnd one piece of advice that I will give straight off the bat is that no matter what you are trying to achieve, whether it is UGC or personal brand influencer work, I I do truly believe that building a personal brand is one of the greatest things that you can ever do for yourself because there is so much potential on the back of that.
The more that you grow a presence, the more that you grow a community, and the more that you grow a platform to where people can connect with you.
you open so many doors for yourself before you even know what it is that you want to do.
So I think to myself and my journey, for example, I've been online for over 10 years now, really taking it seriously, like in terms of I had business through there, the protein balls through there, stuff like that.
Before that, I was building a brand, not even really realizing that I was doing that right.
And then, you know, coming into the start of last year where I really said, all right, let's go on the personal brand influencer front.
Build a following, build a community and, you know, just know that that's going to open doors for me.
Like you think to any, I even think, sorry, to any of my friends who are creators and what they've done on the back of their audience and platforms.
It's just smart business, right? And, you know, I don't see my socials as business first and foremost.
I see it as a platform for me to share like what my truth is, to share a message that I want to actually share.
have an impact on people with, to share the things that I love and to really let it be a place that documents my life and who I am.
And, you know, I never want that to be a curated space because that's when you lose the magic, you lose the love of it.
But in the same breath, it also has opened up so many opportunities for me from like a business point.
And it really also supports the life that I see for myself and Cruz and our family, where even when it comes to having a family and having the flexibility to work online and to do brand work and to get paid in that capacity, that's also a really big goal and priority of mine as well.
So I think when you look to it as building a personal brand, yes, for the love of it, but then also understanding that the love of it will open so many doors for you.
Like I was saying, even with so many friends, like one of my best friends, so she has an incredible personal brand, an incredible community.
And in the same breath, she's had a Future You brand, which was like drink bottles.
And then she had – now she's got matcha and she's got a recipe book and she's got so many passion projects that she's able to seamlessly market and promote through her brand because as a result of her sharing her life and her truth – the products that she has released, because they are so true to who she is, is the most natural thing for her audience to be interested in investing into because A, they gain so much value from them, but B, they've seen that for the last however many years she's been online, nine, 10 years online, that all of these things are truly a reflection of her and her lifestyle.
