I was asking, "What box do I fit in?" I think you've probably heard me say this before.

I was asking, "What box do I fit in?" And the answer I was getting, "Be you." And that did not make any sense to me.

And that's saying a lot because I had already gone through a major depression in my early 20s when I was considering suicide.

So to say that, um, you know, I spent another two years deeply depressed was very, very painful.

You know, people would ask me, "How was your ride?" And it was like I almost didn't wanna tell them because I felt like a failure because...

not only because I didn't ride every mile, but because my goal of figuring out who I was d- was not accomplished.

So I came home [laughs] and I just kept struggling, right? I wrote a memoir about the cross-country bike trip.

And for the next, oh, wow, 15 years or so, I just kept feeling like there was more.

I was helping one person put her ideas into the world, um, a very talented artist, and I wanted to help more people be able to put their ideas into the world.

I wanted more people to feel empowered and to have the support that I could offer in figuring out what was next for them and what was possible.
