In this episode of the Forster Straight Shooters Podcast, we’re talking all things GAP Grind and what makes it one of the most unique events in precision rifle shooting. Josh breaks down how the GAP…
Um, it, Are you going, when you, I guess when you're there, are you treating beyond some of the obvious? Are you treating this match, do you treat this match any different than any other match? I guess more specific, are you just grumpy frumpy through all of them and game face or are there a few more? little giggles and tickles in between.
Yeah,
there'll be, there'll be more of that.
There's time for that.
Um, no, it's, it's my turn or a few before when the pros are shooting, I'm, I'm still game face, but when it's the AMS, I was pros will joke and, and we're going to help the AMS and have a good time.
I mean, I think we're, we're squatted with some of the Peterson boys, um, Peterson cartridge guys and a few other friends.
So it, it'll probably be a lot of, uh, BS and, and, you know, Joking around, picking on each other.
Yep.
So it'll be a good time.
Yeah.
And, and it's, uh, So like you said, you kind of, does your am shoot right after you? No.
So the entire, uh, pro shoot.
Got it.
So then I say I was first shooter at that stage.
All the pros would shoot.
And then the first shooter for the ams would be my amateur.
And then they, they go in that order, but we round Robin, you know, just how PRS is, is done.
If you shoot first, you're going to shoot last on the next stage and advance as you advance, you move up.
Yeah.
A spot or whatever, but.
Yeah, I know for, for Forrester, uh, it's just one of those good times to be able to get down there and be in front of a lot of people.
You know, you think if it's a normal match, you've got your, like K&M, uh, they have another match there that's not a pro-am like the gap grind.
And so you have 200 plus shooters there.
So it's still a big, big two-day match but here they're going to have twice that you're going to have 400 some shooters there so just it's a great opportunity for us to get in front of a lot of different people meet a lot of different you know a lot of new people coming into the sport uh and especially when they're new then you know maybe they just got a coax press and are having X question X this that, that we can be in front of.
I mean, uh, we go down and we set up a booth in the one pavilion and we're there kind of all day on that train up day.
