yeah I totally agree there um and it's all about looking after yourself isn't it and I think it's I have a lot of friends that are not um in the medical field or nurses or anything like that and I just I really enjoy spending time with them because I don't have to think about anything to do with hospitals um so that's one of the ways that I kind of like to look after myself um but how do you look after yourself away from the department
I also agree with you on that I most of my friends actually non-medical so it's so nice to just leave that world behind and kind of step into my own so one thing I've learned is that you can't pour from an empty cup So for example, at work, I will always take my break.
I'll always encourage somebody, especially as we're working 12 and a half shifts on our feet, doing like 14,000 steps a day.
You need that break to yourself.
How can you look after somebody if you're not looking after yourself? So I always look after myself.
So I stay hydrated.
I make sure I have like home cooked meals.
I eat breakfast before I come.
Um, I always try and get a good sleep before I always, if I'm feeling sad, MNS is my best friend that I will pop over and get a little sad
if I need
to.
Um, I think also just making sure you do what you love on your days off and I think really utilizing it.
or I guess in all the nursing.
So it's important to have a healthy kind of routine outside of work.
I can't lay there.
I feel guilty from laying there.
I always want to be on the go.
I always want to be doing something.
So on my days off, I try and do exercise.
I get out of the house.
I can do a session.
It makes me feel lighter.
