Jul 26, 2026 · 23 min · 9 segments
Fr. Kyrillos Ibrahim - Homily for the 3rd Sunday of Epip. Drawing from 1 Timothy 6:11-12, this sermon calls Christians to flee evil, pursue righteousness, and lay hold of eternal life through daily…
And at the end of the reading, in verses 11 and 12, he says, "'But you, O man of God, flee these things,' these things being the evil, corruption, the falsehood, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, gentleness, fight the good fight, lay hold of eternal life to which you were also called.
So I just want us to think about these three phrases that are in those verses.
Flee from these things, he's saying to Timothy, you, O man of God, flee from these things, pursue righteousness, and lay hold of eternal life.
And each of these actually gives us, we could say one of them is kind of a defensive posture in the spiritual life.
