Carly VanderheydenHostSo tell us a little bit about your preparations for creating this work with seeing this dance theater.
Did you have a really clear concept and idea of music and all of the things that it was going to be?
So this summer, I kind of was able to get like a skeleton of it in a way.
I want to dig into it and craft it, especially for the company in a way, because I use the same kind of games and tools to get us there.
And then I knew I wanted to kind of zoom in on certain sections, the two middle sections that I added.
So it's been nice to feel, a lot of times I step into rooms like, okay, let's see, but to have a clear idea.
So I feel like the pacing has been nice and then I could get into it deeper in a way, which is nice.
So it actually circles back to the piece I was talking about at Baryshnikov Arts.
And sometimes I was in the studio and I was like, oh, what are we going to do? And I'm like, oh, Ryan, let's play with this.
You know, we build, we take all the things, build a sculpture in a room.
And then we were kind of, even if I was here, you know how we trace the mic in a way, circles, the table, and kind of, kind of a crunchy girl.
