The eBay Cockroach Stalking Scandal is Insane

[laughs] Um, speaking of eBay, right, I have been obsessed-- I don't know if you know about this story.

I've been obsessed with it.

Uh, here's the headline: "eBay agreed to pay nearly $50 million to couple who were sent cockroaches, bloody pig masks and more.

eBay agreed to pay nearly $50 million to Massachusetts journalists David and Ina Steiner" That's a sick name.

Ina Steiner! It's the most Jewish name of all time.

"Under a newly fi- finalized settlement in resolving a lawsuit over a 2019 cyberstalking campaign carried out by former company employees." How good is this? eBay, the company, uh, stalked and harassed these people, and it's all true 'cause they just lost the lawsuit.

You don't even have to say allegedly anymore.

This, this couple ran a small website about e-commerce, like selling shit online, when that was really, really big, 2019, uh, and, and even a l- couple years before that.

Uh, and they were very critical of eBay.

So all of these eBay employees, some of whom were actually literally instructed to harass [chuckles] this couple.

Uh, and they did, and the story is awesome.

Um, uh, the parties reported...

I want-- Where, where's the fucking thing? All right.

"The settlement resolves more than six years of criminal and civil proceedings stemming from the harassment campaign.

In," uh, "their 2021 lawsuit filed in Boston Federal Court, the Steiners said that the company engaged in a conspiracy to intimidate, threaten to kill, torture, terrorize, stalk, and silence them in order to stifle their reporting on eBay." Now, how good has your job gotta be for you to willingly stalk strangers who are talking shit about the company you work at? 'Cause I could see myself doing a little bit of stalking for a family business.

I don't know if I would do any stalking for a, a, a multi-billion dollar international conglomerate unless I was personally getting paid millions of dollars to be their professional stalker.

Then I could see it happening, you know? I would love to know your thoughts.

How much do you have to like your boss for him to be like, "Hey, this, uh, this old woman, this old Jewish couple have been talking shit about me on their blog.

I want you to kill them"? [laughs] How good is your benefits gonna be, you know? How many days of maternity leave are you gonna get before you start thinking about riding for your fucking CEO that you've never met? 'Cause that's the thing.

I've worked at a lot of small businesses, and a small business, sure.

If someone writes something shit about the, uh, uh, the, the small specialty Swiss butcher that I worked at from the age of 14 to 18, absolutely.
