Over the past 24 hours, you have probably been hit over the head by stories about rising bond yields.

Like I just mentioned, I hate to admit it, I don't wanna do it, I even churned out a story or two on this the past 24 hours.

The rising yield is one of the most important things happening in markets right now.

It's not because of some warning on the nation's debt from some third-rate investing pundit.

The reason is the economy is weakening under the tiny grip of inflation, and this is not planned.

And this is just going down as the Federal Reserve makes it costlier for the businesses and you, the consumer, to borrow money.

Here are a few red flags I've picked up on this week that no one is talking about other than me.

Execs at payroll services company Paychex said this week we are in a low hire, low fire environment.

Lucky Charms maker General Mills warned about more quarters of pressured margins at the hands of a big pickup in inflation in things like wheat, diesel, and packaging.
