Soul Sister Society: The Podcast
Aug 20, 2026 · 34 min · 10 segments
When I first discovered manifestation, mindset and self-development, I loved everything I was learning—but I didn't really have anyone around me who wanted to talk about it. And looking back, I think…
And that whole thing is kind of what I want to talk about today, really, because it made me think back to why I created Soul Sister Society in the first place.
So when I first started my self-development journey and I spoke about this before but I did feel quite lonely to be honest like not lonely in the sense that I didn't have people around me to do things with because I did you know I had my amazing friends, my gorgeous family, my partner but but and they've always supported me don't get me wrong but it was like I was reading all these books I was kind of going on this spiritual journey I was becoming interested in manifestation and I think when you start to to find things out that are really making you question everything that you know and you you're kind of going down a new path and you're learning all these things it's exciting you just naturally want to talk about them don't you And I wanted to have conversations, you know, where you finish a chapter in a book and you're like, oh, my God, you are not going to believe what I've just found out.
This has genuinely changed my life.
And the people around me just weren't interested in that.
They supported me, but they just didn't always get what I was talking about.
And I think there is a big difference.
I think sometimes we don't talk enough when it comes to self-development that sometimes changing our lives can feel extremely lonely because you start thinking differently.
You find new interests.
You start dreaming bigger.
You want to kind of have conversations that maybe the people that you've always had in your life don't actually really want to get involved with and that's absolutely fine.
It doesn't mean you've like outgrown them or anything and I think it feels sometimes as though the second that you start to work on yourself, some self-development books, like you need to cut out the toxic people.
You need to cut everyone off who doesn't support you.
You need to get rid of everyone who's not walking the same season of life as you.
And I call bullshit on that.
My relationships with my best friends, my partner, my family, they haven't changed because I've discovered self-development.
They are exactly the same.
But what I realized is that actually having different people who can meet different parts of me is so, so important.
I can have the people in my life who's loved me and I've loved for years, but I can also find women who want to talk about the books I've read.
who want to talk about manifestation, who have massive dreams, who believe anything is possible, who are building businesses, who are exploring spirituality, who don't look at me like I've completely lost the plot when I start saying that I'm sticking my crystals out in the garden to charge at moon.
And I think the loneliness that I felt at the you know, I didn't start Soul Sisters because I was like, oh, this is a good business idea.
I created it because it was something that I was craving.
I needed people to talk to.
And I had absolutely no idea when I started it, just how many incredible connections would come from me being like, does anyone else want to read this book with me? Because that's basically all it was.
So that's kind of what I want to talk about today.
