Last time that I had brand photos taken, I was a completely different person.
It was 2018.
I had literally left my full-time job like a couple of months before.
I had not been in full-time business for a full year at that point.
So it was a completely different stage of business.
I had much less confidence in who I was and what I was doing and who I wanted to serve.
My brand was positioned a lot differently and I definitely did not have a super clear vision for where I wanted my business to go.
I was just kind of happy to be here.
And that was great.
Those worked really well for me for a long time, and they are not working well for me anymore.
So investing in this brand photo shoot was not just about needing updated profile images, although I did.
It was about really creating photos that reflected the business that I have spent the last eight years building.
I wanted someone to land on my website and think, oh my gosh, this is the person I want to hire.
Because photos, as you know, if you've listened to this podcast, are the first impression people have of our brand and of our personality.
And My existing photos were not doing that in the way that I wanted them to.
So I had had working with WorkPlay Branding on my business vision board for a couple of years by this point.
For most of those years, I was pregnant or freshly postpartum.
So you can make your own guesses as to why I did not pull the trigger on a brand photo shoot during that time.
But back in November, they ran a really killer Black Friday deal.
And I finally felt like I was ready to make this investment in my business and in myself.
Fast forward to May when we did our brand photo shoot, and it is now June that I'm recording this, and I think July that this episode will go live.
I am so, so, so glad that I did.
And it was 10 out of 10, one of the best investments I have ever made in my business.
And the reason why it went so well is because I really killed it on the preparation.
