And, um, I'm gonna continue down a path I introduced last week, uh, a mantra of sorts that came to me, I think, in 2018, and it sort of stuck with me ever since.

I've never [clears throat] brought it to Sick Club in this way, but it's something I use quite a bit.

It's sort of a, an amalgamation of a lot of different things that a lot of different teachers have bestowed upon us throughout the years.

And last time, uh, we were together, we spent our time considering the only here aspect of the mantra, and I'm gonna sort of build upon that.

I also introduced this idea that I think about quite a bit, um, which I call here-ness.

And then further, today, I want to introduce an idea that maybe you've considered before, but now-ness.

It can be more expansive than that, but that's sort of the initial understanding, the initial premise here.

And so we talked about what does it actually mean to stay present to where it is that you are.

Here and now, you know, Ram Dass, "Be here now," very, uh, interchangeable, related.

But I want to ask you one of my sort of meant to be provocative questions that I was thinking for myself, and it's: When else is there? When else is there? On any given day, we will find ourselves inhabiting the pattern of planning for the future, remembering the past, putting off a task that we anticipate getting done at some point, regretting things that maybe we haven't done up until this point.

But I offer you the reminder that we all sort of know in that all we actually have is now.

And of course, as humans, we develop all these amazing mechanisms for survival to convince ourselves differently.
