Marianne BarryGuestEgleHostAnnaHostbecause we wanted to treat this podcast and we're at the very beginning of it as a research project.
Anna, you and myself, we worked with so many teams across so many years and it's hard to imagine that Teams kind of work well by default, and we talked about it in our first episode, right? It's like nobody really comes together and works well by default, right? We still need help as teams and organizations, and we still need kind of these chaperones
There isn't like a secret sauce for us to work together.
Yeah, it's not automatic.
Like, yes, amazing if you find a company that somehow all the emotions and all the vibes and all the characters click.
And I've been there before and it's amazing to be in there.
but that doesn't get you very far.
You still have to have some kind of ability to create this in a sustainable manner.
So it actually like flows for a long time and not just for like a couple of weeks when everybody's like in a good mood and stuff.
Right.
And that is why for our first episode with a guest, our actual guest is a talented scrum master, agile coach, and a trained mediator who works essentially with all of us.
So whether we're in product, tech, and design.
And this is exactly why I'm so excited to kind of have her in our podcast and bring her in.
Yeah, Marion Barry is the guest of this episode.
She started out as a UX designer working waterfall where design and development kind of like barely talk to each other.
And as far as I can see, she never looked back.
Today, actually, she helps teams to cut through the bad process, and we actually talk about that a lot, which was actually a very, very interesting part of the episode.
Building genuine psychological safety and also actually change how people work, not just adopt a new framework or off the rack framework and call it a day.
She's also a trained mediator.
So in this episode, we talk about designers and what designers and delivery leads, you know, still get wrong about each other, why agile has gotten such a bad reputation and yeah, what it takes to lead a team that lasts.
