A Study in Pink

Okay, we said we'd be studying pink.

Let's get into the pink.

Any preliminary comments about colors before we hop into this?

Well, yes, I think that I just wanted to point out that the interesting thing about this is that the topic really is sort of a guidepost through the canon.

So, you'll notice, listeners, that we've not done the obvious, for example, dedicated a show to the appearances of the word the in the canon.

Because, now, attractively, that would take us through several hundred episodes.

But there is a point to this, and that is, you know, sort of using it as a compass to get through the canon and seeing what you find.

And occasionally you find some things that are associated with this that are really of interest that you may have probably missed in reading through the stories.

So that's really what this is all about.

And pink is just a great idea.

Hmm.

Well, thank you for that.

And just to be the resident fact checker here, if we did, in fact, peruse the canon for thee, that would only be 37,368 mentions.

Oh, wow.

So that would be good for at least two episodes, I would think.

Yeah, that's great.

But we'll spare everyone that.

Instead, let's look at Pink.

How many times, if you had to guess...

How many times the word pink appears in the canon? How many times would you think it would be?

Well, I've looked, of course, so I know.

But if I hadn't looked, I would have said fewer than a dozen times.

I think that's a good guess.

I would have been wrong.

Well, that is true.
