Episode 279: [SF289] Piers Cross Host of the An Evolving Man Podcast Interviews Dom

And as you mentioned the names, because obviously what drew me to reach out was.

You talking about boarding schools and how many of them have been to boarding school.

And obviously that's an area I've been fascinated with for about 20 years after my own experiences.

So when you say witty, I'm like, oh, he went to boarding school age nine and Valance was at a boarding school.

I can't find the data if he actually was a boarder.

And so many of the media, Rupert Murdoch went to boarding school.

So it's fascinating as you say that.

And as I was reading through your book, I was reading it at the weekend.

I had my phone out and I would go onto Wikipedia or their website and just say, oh, did that person go to boarding school? And I'm like, my God, almost 70 percent of the people you talk about in that book.

I've been to boarding school.

So I'm just fascinated to speak to

you.

I was brought up in a conservative household, ironically.

My dad was a local butcher.

And so he always voted conservative.

Working class guy from Dewsbury, a mill town not far from Huddersfield.

And he always voted Tory.

But my mum's side...

My grandfather would be a stepfather because my mum were black.

He was a labour union leader.

So Christmas dinners were always interesting.

They were always arguing about politics.

And I thought, it all sounds like nonsense to me.
