Can nervous system regulation help chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS) and long COVID symptoms like brain fog, crashes, and fatigue? What if the root issue is a hypersensitive nervous system stuck in…
Miguel BautistaGuestSophie ShepherdHostWow, I mean, I've heard a lot of journeys over the years of helping 600 women with their health and my own journey, but this one is, um, really gonna stick in my mind for a long time because it just goes to show the power of our own nervous system, our mind, our emotions, our mental capacity and what it can, what it can lead to in our physical body.
And I think a lot of people listening may feel like your story really helps in that they may not be willing to always admit that this is in their nervous system and in, like, the pushing and the going and the perfectionism.
You know, you were pushing until your body, like, just started screaming and shut down, right?
So now that you're, you know, eight years out of that [laughs] um, I'd love to hear a little bit more about what your philosophy is on how the nervous system dysregulation can show up as a s- you know, maybe a chronic stress-related symptom.
Um, and do you think, this is kind of a spicy q- question, but do you feel like all symptoms are, you know, a result of a dysregulation in the nervous system? Or do you think it's, like, you know, there's other things that could be going on too?

Yeah, I definitely think there can be other things going on that sometimes people have multiple different diagnoses, but the thing is they try to solve those diagnoses that the doctors give them.

And when it's not really doing the trick, like when it helps them maybe 10% or 20%, but all the symptoms or the underlying symptoms are still there, there's probably a deeper problem, probably a deeper issue.

And the way people can probably have an idea they have this is if they have those mysterious symptoms.

Like, you know, 3:00 PM rolls around and you just feel like you have to lie down.

Y- your body just feels like somebody turned up the gravity or you're just carrying these sandbags walking around or doing groceries, for example, like a shopping bag.

Bringing a shopping bag to your car, like, that gets you out of breath or going up stairs.
