We can probably go deeper in details later, but essentially, yeah, you put the state of your application instead of living in memory, it lives in the URL so you can share it, bookmark it, reload it, send it to a friend.

And what made you want to build it? Initially, I had a little web app that was entirely client side that ran.

And I wanted to transfer the measurements and all the calculations and everything, the state essentially of the app, from my laptop where I would do all the adjustments onto my phone so I could go to the workshop and have the cut list literally on my phone because I didn't want to bring the laptop down there.

And I didn't want to set up a server, a database, all those stateful things that we generally use.

And I just, yeah, that's the URL is the perfect place to put this because I can just copy paste the link.
