Shawn HondorpGuestMelvin VargheseHostSean, I wanted to ask you this, which is, you know, I feel like especially in the last year, AI usage has just exploded.
But, I mean, there's all sorts of reports coming out around the loneliness epidemic in the world and in this country.
Why do you think something like as analog as like a small retreat is having a moment right now

yeah there's a lot of retreats i mean i think people are craving connection they always do probably craving it more than ever right now i think the thing that you know we're seeing is that ai makes everything smoother and short-term but I think the thing that I would hopefully this answers your question like what I've noticed about like when I explore creativity and I have my dance community like community is not always comfortable right and I think AI you know hopefully and I don't know if this is the case or not but like people are wanting to do retreats but I think sometimes it is hard to like it's scary to show up in a community especially if you don't know anybody right but I think people deep down their desire to do that and to challenge themselves like humans are wired to want to challenge themselves but it's like We also have to keep building the skills to hold ourselves in this discomfort that it takes to actually get community and get connection.
I think AI in many ways makes a lot of administrative tasks and even brainstorming easier and less fragmented.
I've been reading some of the stuff around the toll of actual ai usage and how that's leading to like loneliness or a sense of never good enough or a kind of a you know and a perpetual anxiety around like over optimizing but i think all of it's like connecting or creating a sense of disconnection you know

yeah yeah or even just not being able to like yeah, hold the, I always think of it as like the capacity to hold the discomfort of like, I've noticed this even with like my emails to my email list.

Like I have been like, there's always that desire to like run it through the AI and I always edit it after, but even this week I was like, no, I'm not, I'm just writing a regular old school email.

I have therapists that we meet on Zoom and we do like a writer's club right now.

But even in those 30 minutes, sometimes I'll notice the urge to use AI and I'm like, I don't like that.
I mean, the skills we gain, the skills we lose in the process of all of this.
So one is, so many folks are listening, naturally introverted, but we crave depth.
We're hearing a conversation like this around retreats, never done something like this.
