Are you stuck at the same weight despite being in a calorie deficit? Or are you training hard, eating more, and still struggling to build muscle? In this episode, I break down why your body probably…
I have so many videos on adherence in food reporting, and I just recorded one this morning on the I'm 100% Adherent checklist and the exact things I would go through in your diet to ensure you're not making a misstep, you're not overlooking something very small.
I hate when people do that on YouTube, but I will say you will lose weight if you're in a deficit.
but the thing that i use for people the thing that i like when someone comes to me and they're like i i'm already eating this amount of food once we tighten up adherence and once we agree we're on the same page about what it means to be a hundred percent adherent i'm typically gonna ask them to go like a week maybe two weeks without a cheat meal without an untracked meal no deviations i'm also going to intentionally increase their deficit size And I'll usually calculate it out like I'm going to increase their deficit size by 250 a day, which means that on this scale, we should see another half pound come off.
Now, if that happens and then the following week they're down half pound, then we know Whatever they are doing currently, it doesn't matter what the number of calories they're at.
That is the confirmation that I'm looking for that like, okay, whatever your deficit size was, it was getting catabolized somehow.
And like the question I ask here really for clients is like, where are your inconsistencies? And that can seem like...
almost a little backwards it's like wait no i told you i'm being 100 perfect why would you assume i'm inconsistent y'all in my weekly sheet for all my clients i have a section called areas for improvement this is built in i bake this in because i can tell you i can do everything 100 on paper i can check a box but there is context to how i did it and certain things i can do better than others certain things i can just do for submission i can just be like yeah i got it done but But I include this for my clients because I really want to know from their perspective, what are the things that they could do like just a little bit better at? Sometimes it's like, hey, I'm not prioritizing my water early enough in the day.
