Secrets of a Bridal Seamstress

A couple episodes ago I told you about a hard situation I had with a client, and that turned into a conversation about being honest with ourselves. Today I'm taking it a step further: when you're…
Okay, well, let's dive into the topic at hand.
So this all started a couple episodes ago when I told you about a difficult situation that I had with a client.
And then that led to a conversation about being honest with ourselves.
And I want to take it a step further and ask you, when you're honest with yourself, what are you struggling to actually admit to yourself? Okay.
And then I promise we'll talk about more fun stuff in a later episode, but this one, I don't know, might kind of sting a little bit.
And I think I'm okay with that.
Okay.
Because sometimes it's easier to think a specific thing about our business.
It might not actually be honest, but it's easier to think that about ourselves than to acknowledge that the truth or to acknowledge what our real mindset is about a specific topic or what we're actually doing in our business even though we think that we're doing something else.
So I wanna talk about a couple different ways that this manifests in your business and maybe in your personal life and just give you some encouragement for some self-reflection.
And it doesn't need to be a bad thing.
But as I talked about in the past couple episodes, When we are honest with ourselves and when we look at a situation that didn't turn out so great, it can be an opportunity to grow and it can be an opportunity to empower ourselves to change for the better.
So this isn't an episode to get you feeling down or like to really discourage you.
It's actually the opposite.
I want you to take ownership of what is actually happening in your life.
so you can make changes for the better.
Because if you don't acknowledge it in the first place, if there are things that you don't want to admit to yourself, nothing's gonna change.
You're gonna have the exact same wedding season in 2027 you had in 2026 you're gonna still be sewing at 1130 at night when you texted your family and said you're gonna be done by 7 you're still gonna have another season where you're not really eating you don't see your friends you feel like you're under charging and you're questioning why the heck did I get into this business right as opposed to maybe having the difficult conversation with yourself and your ego now and to make good changes for 2027 so you can feel like, oh my goodness, I forgot that I had a life outside of the business between April and September or whatever.
These were kind of tricky conversations to have, but I'm so glad that I had them because now I have the right tools in place and I knew who to ask to get the help that I needed, okay? So let's talk about, I'm just gonna throw out some of these common things that literally I hear come out of people's mouths.
I'm not making this up.
Yeah, this comes from real people.
