I mean, a different person in a different conversation let me know that this was happening.

So it was like, yeah, this, this was a thing that I feel like was a significant development that anybody could have seen.

But the whole, whole [laughs] reason I'm in this is to, to pay attention to this stuff.

Like, if we're gonna cover the stories about things going wrong, I think an expansion of a, a theater's hours and operations is, is important to cover as well.
What do you attribute to, and what do they attribute to it being open, uh, seven days a week?

... bringing people out and seeing attendance going up is a big thing, and we'll talk about some of that programming this weekend.

But I think it's just been a general trend in a positive direction that especially post-pandemic I've heard other theaters are also experiencing, and that in general people are going out to live events, to movies again, to that type of experience that you can't get at home.

But then again, it's like you gotta give people a reason to show up and get off the couch, and I think the sort of unique programming that the Northwest Film Forum has, that The Beacon has, that Grand Illusion has, and also that SIFF has, like the sort of independent-

... you're not gonna be able to see this anywhere else stuff is, is hopefully bringing people out, and in this case is, is enough to then expand to, to a full week of operations.
This reminds me of a conversation we have threatened to have, which is sort of like what are the various identities of the theaters in Seattle, and what... how could they, I don't wanna say modify, 'cause I think everyone's doing a great job.
But, like, what are things they could lean into? And I do think that one thing that Northwest Film Forum is doing is, um, programming stuff that really no one else is.
Or if they have something like this week's The History of Concrete, um, it's a limited window.
