So not ever feeling like you're doing enough.
I think in your 20s, this is probably like one of the most prominent feelings is feeling behind, feeling like you should be doing more, feeling like you should be further ahead.
and let me tell you that it will never be enough like let me just say this right out the gate this feeling that you were trying to achieve like this feeling of pure contentment of pure bliss of pure perfection is it's non-existent like can you think of any single person in the world who has achieved success who has hit a certain milestone and just stopped you never hear from them again because they hit the milestone and that was that You don't ever really hear that because either the goalposts move, they're achieving the next thing, or they're progressing further.
And I think that's the thing.
It's like we always set these milestones for ourselves.
Once we hit them, there's another one.
Once we hit them, there's another one.
We don't get that feeling of completion.
and I know I have experienced this feeling of not doing enough for so so long like I think of it in school remember when I was working because I started working when I was 16 and I left my job when I was 19 so like all the way from like my last two years of school basically I was working and And I will be the first to admit that I worked a lot more than I should have worked specifically coming up to my exams.
I like had taken time off to study and to prepare for my exams.
But I was like this whole time and I was like mapping out like how much time do I need to take off? Like, you know, whatever, whatever.
I was I was taking into my workplace into consideration much more than I was considering my own time to study.
Like I kind of like looking back, like I subconsciously knew that like I wasn't giving myself enough time to study.
But I was like, well, I can't be out for that long at work.
And that is not my workplace's fault.
That is my own fault for trying to overachieve.
You know, I didn't want to upset them.
I didn't want to do this.
I didn't want to do that.
I wanted to do go to my exams.
I wanted to stay in school.
I wanted to work.
I wanted to, you know, and I felt like I had to constantly feed myself.
each and every one more than I already was and I felt like if I pulled back from one I wasn't doing enough so I would try and maintain it to the best of my ability and of course there came a time where I did have to dial back my work but I definitely didn't dial it back as much as I should and as a result of that like I will probably admit that I could have done a lot better in my exams although like you know for most of my last years of school I wasn't studying and wasn't really doing my homework because of just obviously like OCD and like personal reasons and stuff but you know after I would say like once like the start of 2023 hits like the last like four or five months of school I really tried to lock in but with work it was kind of hard to like to balance it all but all the same, it was because I felt like if I'm just sitting at home and I have to study, but I'm not studying, that was shining a light on the fact that I wasn't studying.
