And so what I want to do is I need to kind of let you understand what this parable is about and understand the moment because the moment is crucial to what he's about to say.
He comes in on a donkey.
They're throwing palm branches on the ground and everybody's going, Hosanna, Hosanna.
Hosanna means what? It means Lord save us.
If you didn't know that, that's what it is.
They're coming in because they think Jesus is the Messiah that's going to overturn the Roman Empire.
He's coming in to set the captives free from the Roman occupancy and all this.
But here's what happens next.
Jesus, he comes in, all this excitement's going on, and he doesn't go sit on a throne.
He goes straight to the temple.
He goes into the temple and right away he notices people selling stuff all over the place and he starts flipping tables.
with this situation.
He's turning tables upside down and he says to the people in that room and the religious leaders, he says, my house,
I like that,
he says, my house, he's claiming something right there.
He says, my house is called a house of prayer, but you have made it a den of robbers.
The religious leaders felt the threat and they started asking him questions, trying to trap him, trying to discredit what he's saying.
And in a response, while these leaders are still circling like predators, Jesus turns and tells them this parable.
