This week in the Great Azriel Ship War? Azris! Listen along as we uncover the evidence for Azriel and Eris and decide -- is it a Fireheart? Or does it belong Straight in the Cauldron? (Hint: We are…
Well, our first argument basically looks like this.
Across multiple books, Eris demonstrates a reoccurring and unusually specific awareness of Asriel.
Asriel is the shadow singer and the Night Court spy master.
His entire supernatural skill set is built around secrecy and shadows and surveillance and basically remaining undetected.
And yet Eris is able to find him.
But the argument gets stronger when we stop treating kind of this moment in isolation, when we start noticing that Eris continues to demonstrate an unusual amount of awareness of Asriel, even when Asriel isn't present.
So throughout Silver Flames, Eris repeatedly asks for or references the Shadow Singer.
And the theory, so basically is not just Eris caught Asriel spying, therefore they are mates.
It's Why is Eris repeatedly so aware of where Asriel is, what Asriel is doing, and whether Asriel is available? And so if Eris knows something about their relationship that maybe Asriel doesn't, could that explain why he seems unusually attuned to Asriel?
Interesting.
this is so the evidence
yeah
oh go for it tell me tell me
this is so interesting to me because I feel like this is probably the one ship that I know very little about because I've just been always a bit like yeah like I don't think there's anything there so seeing that there is actually a connection I'm like wait what but it's also making me think of bigger world connecting pieces and going oh but could this actually also be related to the story but let's keep going so I want to hear the evidence
well I think that's what we're going to dig into when we talk about like where does you know we love to do it where is it strong and where does it where is it not so The evidence is when Eris catches Asriel spying.
The quote is the same thing I told Asriel when I found him snooping through my father's woods yesterday.
So time being based specifically asks whether Eris somehow senses Asriel and whether that could explain how he caught the shadow singer spying.
Then in silver flames, Eris repeatedly asked about him.
He says, the quotes are, I assume your shadow singer is off doing what he does best or so send your shadow singer or So I suggest your shadow singer hurry or tell me when the shadow singer returns.
It's very, what's interesting to me is why the use of shadow singer over and over again.
Um, that's, that's a, to me, there's some, there's a cryptic something there and I'm interested in, in what it means.
Yeah.
Yeah.
