Yeah, so best practices are generally things that evolve rather than are prescribed.

Yeah, most often, like a lot of laws and rules that we have, somebody died or bled to create these practices that have emerged over time because we didn't know what we were doing.

And then as we figured it out, it took a lot of wrong turns before we made the right one.

Do you think people take best practices in that regard or do you think they seem as like this is written? This is thou shall or this is what the man high up on the mountain said.

your interpretation? Well, yeah, I think that is the problem is even though they do, they are born of experience and in a lot of cases born of prior failures and the attempt to avoid those failures in the future.

really rigid, you have to do it this way exactly because there's a lot of nuance that gets lost when you distill them down to make them able to be communicated.

So best practice is one thing, wisdom and discernment to know how to apply them is really the secret sauce.

And that's where having the right partner, having the right advisor, the right consultant in the room with you who not only understands why those practices have evolved to be what they are, but also understands where you should maybe spend a little time thinking about whether you're doing it right or not and not just try to do it by the book.
