Um, this week, um, [laughs] I went and, and did online research on absence in, in Buddhism an-um, initially, and found out...
[laughs] And, um, and I'm just not going to share it all here because, um, it was, it was, you know, it was fun to read and I learned a lot, but it's not what I was looking for.
Um, when I, when I think of absence as it, as it pertains to the opposite of presence, I think of when I am not present.
Um, in my practice, I've discovered, uh, and in my recovery, I've discovered that there are two ways for me to be asleep.
I can sit in a chair and lean my head back and open my mouth like the old guy I am or lie in a bed and do that kind of sleep and fall asleep, and I'll be unconscious, and sometimes I'll dream.
Or I can be unaware of the world around me to the point where I'll be driving in my car to somewhere and get there and wonder how I got there and not be able to recall fully how I even got there because I was so asleep.
