Do You Realize??

one of the greatest songs of all time there, Do You Realize by The Flaming Lips, the video of which was directed by indie filmmaker Mark Pellington, whose work we return to later.

But the thing about Do You Realise is it's not just a love song.

It's one of the best ever love songs.

And the name of a song is a song called Do You Realize? Mm.

So I'm in my car and I hear this, and I, I go, uh...

It sings, "Do you realize you have the most beautiful face?" And there's just orchestration with it.

I actually saw my mom's face, who's someone I have really a terrible history with, but- Mm ...

I saw it, and I felt the compassion hearing that, and I'm thinking, "Wow, this song is so beautiful." Um, and there's more going on.

It goes, "Do you realize that we're floating in space?" And then before the chorus it goes...

And this is what shocked me the most, 'cause I was already practicing then, and just to hear it sung so beautifully on a radio station, a radio station that plays a lot of indie and punk music.
