Pastor Michael here.
Thank you for opening the Word of God together with me.
This week and next week, we're going to finish up the book of 2 Samuel.
And what we're going to find in these final two chapters is that they serve as a sort of an epilogue, if you will, for the books of 1 and 2 Samuel together.
And they're going to invite us to look back over David's life, and ask what mattered most.
You know, rather than ending here in this book with David's death, the author ends with two powerful themes.
And then also in chapter 24, we're going to see another failure of David and how God's mercy is there.
And that, once again, it points us to the greater king that is to come.
Together over these next two weeks, as we end this book together, we're going to be reminded that David was a great king, but he was not a perfect king.
And his life is one that ultimately pointed to the need of a greater king to come, to Jesus himself.
This is the word of the Lord together this morning.
