Well, two weeks before graduation, you called us to let us know that you were really sick.

And the person that was your mentor at the time called us and told us that it was something to worry about.

Your platelet count was super low, and everything pointed to you having leukemia.

Dad and I spent two nights without sleep praying for you that God will do this thing in your life.

And I remember when we told you when you get to the doctor, you call us on the phone and you put the phone there so we can hear what he has to say.

The whole two nights praying, he went to the doctor and the first thing he said was, it's not leukemia.

You were very, very sick with an autoimmune disease that was killing your platelets and you needed immediate treatment.

Thank goodness it wasn't chemotherapy or anything like that, but it was a serious treatment and you needed to come home.

And so we drove up there to your graduation and to get you and make sure that you got the care that you needed.

Um, and so that was the time that was important, you know, for you and your faith journey, I think.

I remember we went, I went to the doctor and he basically told me like, I'm like 90% sure that this is cancer, but I don't want you to worry because I could be wrong.
