So yesterday I was speaking at the Great British Pitch USA in London with Small Business Britain and the Department of Business and Trade.

And I did a show of hands who has a podcast, and not one person put their hand up.

And I think in 2026, people are a bit daunted by the idea of starting a podcast because they look around and think they have to have this whole big video set up.

I've edited it slightly differently, but I've pretty much done it the same way since the beginning of recording this podcast, and that is I sit down with a microphone and I have a chat with you.

So number one, if you can consistently record a 10 to 15 minute lesson to help your audience or a story about something that helps people, you will build an audience on your podcast.

You can build a podcast through interviewing other people, and that's actually a really easy way to get started.

All of which are the themes of my conference because that's what I'm passionate about helping people do.

I want to make this as simple as possible for you to be able to market your business without having to spend all your time marketing your business.

So if you can record a 10-minute session of you speaking, you can take that recording or that transcript and you can chop that up into all of your week's content for your social media.

You can use it as the basis for your email marketing campaign, and then you don't have to think about your marketing.

I was speaking to somebody who works in, who actually works in traditional media about, I really feel that they could start a podcast business to help businesses get podcasts up and out.

And she said, "You know, how, well, how do you, how's the whole process work?" And I said, "It's so simple.
