Who deserved better during her peri and menopause? That actually gives me chills as I read that because I know my mum had a horrid time as well.

I would hate to think that when Audrey gets to that point down the track that she is faced with the same wall of silence that our generation has.

And I think you're like-minded in that it's up to our generation to turn the tide now, that it's different now.

And you know what? This is the biggest gift you could ever give Audrey and all of her friends because I feel like younger generations are going to benefit because Gen X women just went, we ain't putting up with this anymore.

Now, I say in my book that when I first had such severe symptoms, particularly with depression, I was mad at my mum for not warning me.

But then, with hindsight, I'm mad for her that she was treated so badly, that she was given no information.

And to be fair, my mum's generation, my mum's 76, they don't talk about emotions like me.
