ياسمينة, it's actually الروح تبع الـ podcast تبعنا منلتقى نحنا وياك لأنه إنت you're very interested بالمنطقة أكيد وبال-بال-region يلي, يلي إنت أصلك منها.
فيك تفسريلنا شوي كيف بتنقي تحكي عن هيدول الـ topics؟ يعني كيف شو اللي بيخليك تـ-تـ تنقي الموضوع اللي عم تحكي عنه؟

My first piece was about the Arabization of house music, and I think every piece is born out of an obsession, a personal obsession.

وصراحة كنت أستحي لما تحطهم لأنه عايشة بـ London وما بدي حدا يسمع الموسيقى العربية.

So I was shocked to hear these remixes and to see, I mean, people of all ethnicities, especially white, you know, young, white, wealthy individuals who aren't u-- really exposed to the Arab sound, dancing and appreciating that kind of music.

It was all I talked about for three weeks, and my friends encouraged me to write about it, and someone took it, and that's very much how I approach all of my writing.

Anything that comes to my mind, I'll write it down in my notes app, and I think that if I care about it, someone hopefully out there does too.

I think also the more specific something is, the more resonant it is to everyone else.

It was about my relationship with my grandmother and Arabic and not being able to comprehend her in her entirety, and I found that that was the piece that, you know, resonated the most, not just in the diaspora, but across the whole region.
Interesting.
